2014 Annual Meeting: Collaborating to Conquer Cancer

The 2014 ICC Annual Meeting "Collaborating to Conquer Cancer" will take place in downtown Indianapolis at the Indiana Landmarks Center on Wednesday, April 30.

This year’s meeting will describe the coalition’s coordinated, statewide effort to support comprehensive cancer control; highlight stories of success in comprehensive cancer control from ICC partner organizations and volunteers; and provide a call to action to public, private, and non-profit organizations, and individuals, to renew commitments to reducing the burden of cancer in Indiana.

Registration for this event is free and lunch will be provided.

Outcomes

Through discussions lead by our outstanding speaker line-up, ICC members and event attendees will learn:

  • The data and trends of the current cancer burden facing Indiana;
  • What the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program is, and what efforts are in place to reduce the cancer burden across the nation and in Indiana;
  • How coalitions can interact with multiple sectors by aiding in the implementation of policy, systems, and environmental changes in the workplace, school, and community;
  • How to identify personal leadership qualities, and how to effectively utilize those strengths when collaborating on a shared vision;
  • How a coalition functions and collaborates to achieve a desired outcome; and
  • How to use the fight against cancer to empower our work and the communities around us.
